U - Bahn Berlin 2025 - Present
six months, over 150 hours I photographed the U-Bahn, searching for color rather than movement. I spent weeks riding the trains, meeting local riders and performers between stations and platforms.
Inspired by Bruce Davidson’s book Subway and the dim steel and fluorescent tones of the New York City Subway, the bright yellow trains and shifting artificial light of Berlin’s system felt almost cinematic. The color of the carriages and the different lights of each station slowly became the visual language of the project.
